The Heartstart program of training is an initiative of the British Heart Foundation (BHF). Now co-ordinated by Save a Life for Scotland, Heartstart schemes throughout Scotland promote and develop the teaching of Emergency Life Support skills to the general public.
Founded in 1994 as an independent local charity (SC023349), Heartstart Ayrshire & Arran deliver quality training on a not-for-profit basis, delivered free at the point of delivery, in keeping with the ethos of SALFS and the National Health Service.
All training strictly adheres to the ELS guidelines supplied by the UK Resuscitation Council and European Resuscitation Council.
